Before You Arrive

Welcome to Saint Mary’s University! We understand that the first days, weeks, and months of your employment will be filled with excitement, a wealth of information, and many questions. Before you arrive, ensure you have the essentials checked off:

 

Offer Package and Payroll Forms

Review your offer letter and ensure you submit all the necessary documents to Human Resources by the return date indicated in your letter. Relevant documents include your signed offer letter, the Employee Action Form (including your banking information), Federal and Provincial Tax Forms, Employment Equity Workforce Survey and your signed job description (if applicable).

Before you can commence your first day of employment as SMU staff, the applicable documents above MUST BE returned to the Human Resources Office via:

  • Email hr@smu.ca
  • Fax to 902-496-8116
  • Drop off in person to McNally South, Room 111

 

Work Location and Transportation

Check out the campus map, and familiarize yourself with your office location, parking, food, and other services.  Go one step further and take a virtual campus tour.

Parking permits are issued through Facilities Management located in McNally South, Room 011. There are several areas parking areas on campus, along with FAQ related to parking.

Visit HfxRidematch.cato arrange a carpool or take advantage of the University carpool program  which allows members of the university community to have access to designated carpool spaces.
